The Swift County Board of Commissioners will vote on whether or not to construct a new $17.5 million justice center in Benson at their next meeting on February 5. The project proposal is currently expected to pass, with three commissioners supporting, one opposing, and one undecided – as reported by the Appleton Press. The current proposal includes the construction of a 38,000 square foot, two-story building to house a larger jail, sheriff’s office, community corrections, human services, the county attorney’s office, and the restorative practices program.
