The Chippewa County Montevideo Hospital and the Montevideo Area Memory Loss Network have announced the implementation of a new Memory Cafe, made possible by a grant from the Minnesota Council on Aging. A Memory Cafe is a social gathering space where people with memory loss and their care companions can visit in a safe, supportive environment. Memory Cafes are designed to reduce isolation, and offer a sense of normalcy to an existence that often becomes focused on disease and disability. Gatherings will take place on the second and fourth Wednesdays of every month from 2 to 4pm in the EMS Training Center. There is no fee to attend.
