The Montevideo City Council on Monday night approved a zoning amendment request by the Chippewa County Montevideo Hospital to allow for the operation of a daycare within a medical business district. CCMH has plans to open its own on-site daycare for children of employees. It would be located in the EMS training center, which currently functions as a conference room.
According to the zoning amendment request, CCMH hopes the new daycare will help recruit and retain new employees. CCMH would operate under a Class A license for the first year. Under this license, CCMH could provide care for 6 children under school-age; no more than 3 children in the infant and toddler category and no more than 2 infants. The goal is for the facility to be up and running by the end of 2019.
