March is a great time to make a donation to the Chippewa County Food Shelf. All donations made from the beginning of the month through April 7 have the potential to be matched by Minnesota FoodShare.
Chippewa County Food Shelf Coordinator Sam Lye says food donations are always welcome, but monetary donations are preferred. “We have found that $300 can take care of a family of four with a 3-day emergency supply of food once a month for a year,” said Lye. “We’ve also seen that a $1 donation can usually provide 2 to 3 meals for an individual.”
Checks can be made payable to Chippewa County Food Shelf 719 North 7th St Suite 302, PO BOX 159, Montevideo, MN 56265.
