For students and staff at Montevideo Public Schools, Spring means standardized testing. The Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment test is required for all students grades 3 through 11, with the exception of 9th grade. The test is designed to help districts measure student progress toward Minnesota’s academic standards and also meet federal and state legislative requirements.

Montevideo High School Principal Scott Hickey says its important for parents to make sure their children are getting a full night’s sleep and a healthy breakfast throughout testing season. “We definitely don’t want our kids to take anything while they’re feeling hungry, distracted, or tired,” said Hickey, “We want to have the most accurate data that we can.”

The Spring 2019 testing calendar is available now at www.montevideoschools.org/district/assessments.
