The 19th Annual Flood of Jazz show takes the stage Friday, April 26, at the Hollywood on Main in Montevideo. Doors open at 6:00 p.m., show begins at 6:30 p.m.
“Jammin’ in the Jungle” is the theme for this year’s show featuring the Montevideo High School jazz choir and jazz bands as well as the 7th/8th grade jazz band.
Guest artist is Laura Caviani, jazz pianist, composer and educator from the Twin Cities. Many of her jazz compositions are performed regularly by school and professional groups. She has produced many solo and small ensemble CDs with other Twin Cities-based jazz musicians and has performed and toured throughout the United States and Japan. Currently a professor at St. Olaf College and Carlton College in Northfield, she also has been on the faculty at St. John’s University, St. Thomas University and the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire.
