According to the Montevideo Police Department, two suspects were detained following a burglary at gunpoint in Montevideo on Monday evening.
At approximately 7:22pm, officers responded to a reported burglary at 420 N 2nd Street. The alleged victim told officers that two individuals had taken several items from his residence then forced him at gunpoint to drive them to another location where their vehicle was parked. The victim was threatened with violence, robbed, then kicked out of the vehicle.
The suspects were later arrested at Donner’s Truck Stop in Clara City. After obtaining a search warrant, officers found two handguns and stolen property inside the vehicle. Drugs are suspected to have been involved in the incident. Suspects Jawanna Jones and Kenneth Roundtree are currently being held in the Yellow Medicine County Jail.
