A Sacred Heart man was rescued on Friday afternoon after his boat became disabled in the Minnesota River east of the Granite Falls Memorial Park landing. Authorities received a 911 call from 24-year-old Andrew Hanson stating that he was holding onto a tree branch, but was unable to get his boat to shore. Using a rescue boat, Granite Falls Fire Department personnel located Hanson and brought him and his boat safely back to shore. Hanson was not injured in the incident.
