(Willmar, MN) — According to a press release, Willmar police responded to an assault in Southeast Willmar this morning that resulted in several injuries. Some of the injuries were serious. Several ambulances were dispatched as well as air ambulance helicopters. In a news release from Police Chief Jim Felt, he said at 5:40 a.m. they were called to an address in SE Willmar on the report of a domestic disturbance. In the incident a Willmar Police Officer was stabbed multiple times and was transported to Carris Hospital in Willmar and later airlifted to St. Cloud Hospital. The injured officer is reported to be in stable condition. The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension has been called in to investigate the incident.
