(Montevideo, MN) — As of 11:00 this morning, figures in from the Minnesota Department of Health show that there are just under 13,000 cases of COVID-19 in the state. Approximately 1500 of those cases are health care workers. The death toll now stands at 638 with the overwhelming majority of those coming from long term care or assisted living facilities. Locally, there are 22 cases in Lyon County, 26 in Chippewa, 10 in Swift, 3 in Yellow Medicine, and 2 in Lac Qui Parle County. Across the state, over 8700 people have recovered from the virus.
