(Shakopee, MN) — Canterbury Park is planning a shortened, 52-day horse racing season. The Shakopee track will begin races from June 10th and run through September 9th. Fans will not be allowed on the grounds. Races will be run on Monday through Thursday, not on weekends. The winnings are expected to be 15 percent smaller than the planned total of 14-million-dollars. The plan still needs approval from the Minnesota Racing Commission and Governor Walz.
