(Willmar MN-) One man is in custody after a high-speed chase in Willmar Wednesday morning. According to a news release the chase started just after 9 a.m. yesterday when a CEE-6 Regional Drug and Gang Task Force agent stopped a vehicle on Highway 12 east of Willmar. The driver, Matthew Freeman of Willmar, refused to get out of the vehicle for a field sobriety test and fled the scene. The vehicle headed west toward Willmar at speeds of up to 90 miles per hour. Officers deployed spike strips but the efforts were unsuccessful. A Kandiyohi County Deputy eventually performed a pit maneuver to stop Freeman’s car, and he was arrested without incident.
