(Cottonwood, MN)—According to a press release, at around 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, the Yellow Medicine County Sheriff’s Office received a call of a personal injury accident at the intersection of Highway 59 and 170th Ave., in Yellow Medicine County.  Cottonwood Ambulance and Cottonwood Fire Department where dispatched to the scene.  The Yellow Medicine County Sheriff’s Office and the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office were also on scene.  

When Deputies arrived, they learned that a semi-tractor trailer had rear ended a farm tractor pulling a sprayer as it was making a left hand turn off of Highway 59. The driver of the semi was Steve Christenson of Bird Island.  He was extricated from the semi and transported by North Air Care Helicopter to North Memorial, with unknown injuries at this time.   Passenger Darlene Christenson was taken by Cottonwood ambulance to the Marshall Hospital. 

The driver of the farm tractor Jonah Dovre of Porter had no sign of injury. The Yellow Medicine Sheriff’s Office is investigating the accident.
