(Minneapolis, MN) — Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison says he is increasing charges against former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin to second-degree murder in George Floyd’s killing and he also announced that he will also charge the other three officers involved in the incident. That’s according to a tweet from US Sen. Amy Klobuchar.

Chauvin had previously been charged with third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter. The other officers involved including Thomas Lane, J.A. Keung, and Tou Thao had not been previously charged. The official announcement will come Wednesday afternoon.

Two separate autopsies on Floyd have determined that his death was a homicide.
