(Marshall, MN) — A crowd of over 200 people gathered in Marshall yesterday to peacefully protest the death of George Floyd. Protest organizers kicked off a short rally in Memorial Park before leading a march through the city. Protesters marched on East College Drive and through the downtown area.
The crowd remained peaceful, but some local businesses were worried about the possibility of violence. The Walmart location in Marshall closed its doors at 3 p.m.. A store representative said that the closing was merely a precaution and the safety of their staff and their guests is always a top priority. They resumed their normal business hours today.
