(Minneapolis, MN) — A Gophers football recruit from Illinois is changing his mind for a second time. Quarterback Sam Jackson has decided to go to Purdue. The four-star prospect originally first committed to Minnesota in February of 2019, but after a few months, he reopened his recruitment. Jackson then returned to the Gophers in late April.
The Naperville, Illinois standout announced yesterday that he was going to be a Boilermaker. Jackson’s departure leaves Minnesota with 17 members of the 2021 class, ranking fourth in the Big Ten and 12th in the nation.
