MN DOT says the repairs to Highway 67 near Upper Sioux State Park would be too costly.

(Granite Falls, MN) — The Minnesota Department of Transportation project manager for the Highway 67 Closure near Upper Sioux State Park has determined that it’s not feasible to repair the damaged section of the roadway.

MN DOT says the repairs to Highway 67 near Upper Sioux State Park would be too costly.

After a land and cost analysis, the department is recommending permanently closing that section of Highway 67  and rerouting to nearby roads. Officials are currently seeking feedback from local governments will be begin engaging with the public in the next few weeks.

MN DOT closed the section of road back in spring of 2019 due to the large slope failure.
