(Granite Falls, MN) — According to the Minnesota State Patrol, one person was killed in a crash Monday night east of Granite Falls. Patrol Sgt. Troy Christianson says at approximately 9:00 p.m., a 2003 Dodge Caravan driven by 39-year-old Adam Keyser of Hopkins, was traveling eastbound on Highway 67 when the vehicle crossed the center line and entered the ditch. The van paralleled the roadway for about 100 yards before striking a tree head on.  

A passenger, 30-year-old Kasandra Krumm, originally of St. Cloud, was transported from the scene and later pronounced dead at Hennepin County Medical Center.  Another passenger, 59-year-old Dianna Faye Rodriguez of Granite Falls, received life-threatening injuries and was transported to Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls. Keyser also received life-threatening injuries and was transported to Sioux Falls Medical Center.  Agencies on scene included the Granite Falls Ambulance, Granite Falls FD, Granite Falls PD, Upper Sioux PD, and the Yellow Medicine County Sheriff’s Office.

Alcohol is believed to have been a factor in the crash. None of the occupants had been wearing their seatbelts.
