In Chippewa County District Court this week, 27 year old Tosimichi Tan of Appleton was convicted on a felony charge of fleeing a peace officer in a motor vehicle, and refusing to submit to a chemical test. After serving two days in the local jail, he was sentenced to 3 years of supervised probation. He also needs to complete a chemical assessment and pay fines and fees of $880.

Also at the Chippewa Courthouse this week, burglary and theft charges were dismissed against 49 year old Shannon Kaye Zimmerman of Elbow Lake. She was, however, convicted on a misdemeanor charge of trespassing and entering a locked dwelling. She was put on 1 year of supervised probation and will pay $125 in fees and fines.
