(Marshall, MN) — According to the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office, an early morning explosion killed one person and injured another. The explosion occured at a residence in the 2800 block of MN State Highway 19, two miles east of Marshall at around 6:30 a.m. this morning (Thursday).

The home was completely leveled as a result of the explosion.

Upon arrival, authorities found one adult male who was deceased and an adult female who was taken to Avera Marshall Regional Medical Center with critical injuries. The explosion leveled the home and reports say that the blast was heard and felt throughout the community. The cause of the explosion is still under investigation.
