Most area counties saw an uptick in confirmed COVID-19 cases as reported Tuesday by the Minnesota Department of Health. Kandiyohi County is now up to 891 cases with 2 deaths from the virus, Chippewa County has 172 cases with 1 death, Meeker County has 148 with 2 deaths, Renville held from yesterday’s data at 107 with 6 deaths, Yellow Medicine also held at 132 cases with 1 death, Lac qui Parle notched up 2 to 32 cases, Swift went up to 96 with 1 death, and Pope held at 74 cases.

Statewide, there were 643 new cases compared to Monday’s data, and 3 more deaths. There are 233 patients hospitalized with the virus, with 135 of those in intensive care.
