The Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office is reporting that a collision between a pickup and a FedEx truck south of Sunburg on Wednesday afternoon injured two people. The accident happened at the intersection of Kandiyohi County Road 40 and County Road 7 in the northwest part of the county, when the pickup went through a stop sign.

The Sheriff’s department said injuries were sustained by the 16-year-old driver of the pickup, a Benson resident, and by a 39-year-old passenger in the FedEx vehicle, who was from Litchfield. Both were transported to Carris Health-Rice Hospital for their injuries. Both vehicles sustained substantial damage.

Assisting the Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office was the Sunburg Fire Department, Sunburg Ambulance, Lakes Area First Responders, Kandiyohi County Rescue Squad, Carris Health-Willmar Ambulance and the Minnesota State Patrol.
