All Yellow Medicine County offices, aside from the Justice Center Main Door location, are closed to the public until further notice effective immediately. The Justice Center Main Door location is to be used for essential appearances or businesses only. This decision was made after a discussion on the appropriate protection and prevention measures with COVID-19. The Emergency Management Director Casey Namken was consulted on this directive.
This decision was made to keep Yellow Medicine County in line with compliance measures recommended by the Minnesota Department of Health and the Center for Disease Control in addition to the Commissioner of health and Governor Walz. This policy will also help protect the general public and the staff from being exposed and help limit the spread of the virus to friends, families, and residents.
The offices are closed to the public, but their functions and duties will continue. People are urged to use phone, email, and drop boxes to communicate with the County Offices. A complete listing of department contacts can be found on the county webpage or by calling the County Administration at 320-564-5841.
